Decade Milestone for NASA Student Research at Wilmington University – Delaware Space Grant

“Reaching the 10-year mark gives us a chance to reflect on what we’ve built, but also to look ahead,” says Dr. Milton Muldrow, dean of the College of Sciences and Engineering and associate director of NASA’s Space Grant Consortium of Delaware. “With continued student engagement and expanded leadership within the program, we’re focused on strengthening research pathways and creating even more opportunities moving forward.”

Dr. Muldrow assists in the oversight of the consortium of higher learning institutions and with grant proposal reviews. In addition to WilmU, the consortium includes Delaware Technical Community College, Delaware State University, Swarthmore College, University of Delaware, and Villanova University. He also works with state and federal representatives, having twice visited Capitol Hill.

In the NASA program, student researchers focused on careers in science receive hands-on mentoring and access to internships, fellowships and other STEM initiatives in such diverse topics and gene editing and protecting Delaware’s drinking water resources.
