With funding from the Commonwealth of Virginia, the VSGC established the Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS) program. VSCS is designed to inspire high school sophomores that possess latent science and technical skills to participate in a dynamic online STEM learning experience. VSCS is an informal online learning experience highlighted by a seven-day residential summer academy at NASA Wallops Flight Facility for qualifying students. A total of 307 students participated in the online modules and 120 of those students attended the three Academies in June, July, and August 2018.
