North Dakota Space Grant Consortium
FIRST Robotics
FIRST Robotics is a national NASA-sponsored competition that teams professionals and K-12 students to solve an engineering and design problem in an intense and competitive way. The goals of this program are to create a human, technical, and programmatic resource of robotics capabilities to aid future robotic space exploration missions. (From NASA). Three teams from North Dakota were supported this year: North Star Public School in Cando, Northwood High School, and the West Fargo High School. The West Fargo team divided into two sub-teams, adding a Fargo sub-team. All teams competed in multiple regional competitions throughout the school year and when Northwood competed in Duluth, MN, they won the championship! These teams also complete outreach with middle and elementary school students across North Dakota.
