The Utah System of Technical Colleges (USTC) utilized NASA Space Grant funds, matched by local college funds, to fund students for higher education awards during the 2017-2018 school year supporting students interested in and enrolled in programs, occupations, and technologies that might be supportive of or related to aerospace. USTCs eight colleges provide market-driven technical education that meets the needs of Utahs employers for skilled workers. Many of USTCs certificate programs lead to careers for technicians supporting the aerospace industry. Awards to women and minorities was particularly encouraged. This year, awards were made which ranged from $300 to $1,664 to 32 students across at all eight of the colleges in a variety of programs.
