Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium
Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The goal of the Undergraduate Scholarship program is to support exceptional undergraduate students pursuing aerospace, space science, and space-related careers. The objectives of this program are to recruit and fund the scholarship of broadly diverse, high-caliber undergraduate students in aerospace science. Special care is exercised to insure regional distribution, to encourage interdisciplinary studies, and recruit women, under-represented minorities, and developmentally challenged persons. In addition to NASA-funded awards, member institutions also offer WSGC scholarships, funded by their institutions and reported as match. WSGC Undergraduate Scholarship opportunities include announcement of opportunities for community college awards and NASA defined under-represented minorities. The community college application allows two-year students to apply for a fall scholarship award that is applied to the students spring semester. The WSGC advisory council embraced this additional announcement of opportunity as a key component in bridging promising STEM students to a four-year campus. The STEM Bridge Scholarship program is a two-year renewable award for undergraduate students who qualify as a NASA defined under-represented minority. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA and full-time student status. This program is aimed to provide a continuity of mentor support through the undergraduate tenure and expose students to other WSGC funding opportunities.
