Space.edu is part of an initiative to recruit students into a NASA-relevant STEM field with an advanced degree program. The online program offers a Master of Science and Ph.D. which are multi-disciplinary and include disciplines such as planetary science, space engineering, life support systems, space policy and law, space history and space-related aspects of business and management. Unlike a typical aerospace engineering degree, the Space Studies degrees provide the student with the broader background necessary to understand the linkages between engineering, space science, and policy. The program provides numerous research opportunities in each of the aforementioned disciplines. There are resident faculty, research faculty, and adjunct faculty involved in making the program a success. NDSGC affiliate members also participate in the space.edu online degree program, which allows them to bring this NASA-relevant education to their institutions as well.
