With $8,000 in funding from the Florida Space Grant Consortium, the P.I. and Exhibit/Program Teams created two versions of a Mighty Magnets Discovery Lab for grades 1-2 and 3-5. The team determined the exhibits educational messages, conceptualized its design, prototyped, tested, revised, and then built the exhibit stations. We offered this program at OSC as a 60-minute Discovery Lab for school field trips and as a 60-minute offsite workshop. The funding from FSGC enabled the creation of 25 multiple sets of the Mighty Magnets stations. These are used to present offsite outreach programs to schools and community centers across the Central Florida seven county service area. All content aligns with Sunshine State Standards.
