The goal of the Arkansas Workforce Development program is to encourage students to pursue aerospace technology as a career choice, ideally with NASA or NASA contractors. A faculty member with experience in NASA or other aerospace activities will mentor each student. Students will be provided up to $2500 in funding for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses to attend an institution of higher education, and the remainder of funding to apply to a summer internship at a NASA center or NASA contractor. There is added consideration given to underrepresented minorities applying for ASGC Workforce Development Fellowships. The Committee reviews and evaluates all program requests for elements of diversity, interdisciplinary content, and NASA relevance.
