Program Type: Higher Education

High-altitude ballooning and environmental science class activities. Currently the higher education activities in environmental sciences and geosciences/earth sciences and science education are supported. Environmental science support includes the development and presentation of hands-on, laboratory research projects within upper division/graduate environmental science courses. Student participants present their project results at a university wide symposium or at a regional professional meeting. At BSU the HAB project is used as an upper division research/design project for students completing a degree in Science Education or Space Studies Minor. Participants are expected to present their HAB project results at a university-wide research symposium. Students from other disciplines are also invited to participate in the HAB activities. SG funds are also used to support an adjunct faculty member to present introductory environmental studies course.
