The F&S part of the ABttS Program offers extended engagement in astronomy with Prof. McIntosh, a professional scientist and award-winning educator, through two unique tiers of STEM immersion in innovative learning and research training:

I. STEM learning (Bridge Scholars): high school students are provided free enrollment in a learner-centered freshman astronomy course (ASTR 150 , Spring 2018) at UMKC for college credit. Students gain a strong conceptual understanding of physical laws and critical professional development (communication skills, team work experience, quantitative problem-solving skills).
