The goal of the Collaborations with Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) Program is to seed meaningful research partnerships between MSGC Affiliates, Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), and one or more NASA Centers. CMSI supports research internships for MSI students at Maine institutions; direct graduating MSI students to Maine institutions for graduate schools; mentors MSI students; research collaborations and exchanges between Maine and MSI faculty during the academic year or summer; seminars or workshops on topics of mutual interest; and joint travel to NASA centers to explore joint collaborative research opportunities. We will facilitate a dialogue between potential applicants and the NASA Office of Education Minority University Research and Education Program (MUREP) to identify faculty contacts at MUREP institutions in order to explore potential collaborations that could be the basis for proposals.
