CCA is one of the three CO community colleges collaborating on the combined sounding rocket payload mission called CC of CO. A team of 5 CCA students were engaged in this mission during the period of performance. The 3 student team that developed a balloon payload stabilization payload for the 2017 eclipse launch completed their final data analysis and report. We ran our 4th iteration of the Introduction to Engineering workshops and engaged over 30 students in the opportunity. 8 students who participated in the workshops enrolled for Robotics Design (EGG 106) and designed autonomous robots for the 2018 Colorado Robotics Challenge where they demonstrated their rovers at the April event. Once students have successfully completed the course, they are hired as TAs for the next semester and to work as assistants in the CCA STEM lab.
