Carleton College is committed to training our next generation of scientists and engineers. We regularly encourage talented students to consider careers in physics and astronomy and, in particular, space-related careers through NASA. Space Grant Fellowship/Scholarships reward students with demonstrated excellence in pursuit of a space-related career and encourage younger students to consider pursuing such careers.
Every year we select two juniors/rising seniors to each receive the Mike Ewers Award from the Minnesota Space Grant. The second two scholarship awards will be awarded to talented math and science students who have a strong interest in space-related careers. The scholarships will be advertised to all science and math students through departmental newsletters as well as to members of the FOCUS cohorts and their mentors (to encourage students from underrepresented groups to apply).
