As mandated by NASA, the goal of pre-college programs is teacher training. NJSGC supports both in-service and pre-service teachers. This Outcome 2, higher education project aligns with NJSGC Objective 4.1.
The astronomy standards imposed on the K-12 curriculum in New Jersey makes it critical to inspire, motivate, and improve the quality of New Jersey math and science teachers by means of teacher training, educational outreach and professional development programs. The majority of our funding supports astronomy education.
