This Outcome 1, research infrastructure activity supports the RiSE (Research in Science and Engineering) program run by the Graduate School of Rutgers – New Brunswick. The activity aligns with NJSGC Objective 3.3. RiSE chooses 30 outstanding undergraduates from across the U.S. and its territories to participate in 10 weeks of cutting-edge research in the sciences (biological, physical, and social), math, engineering, and exciting interdisciplinary areas. RiSE scholars work under the guidance of a carefully matched faculty mentor. Students receive a stipend and travel reimbursement. RiSE alumni have an outstanding record of success in continuing on to graduate study.
