The goal of the Faculty Research Seed Grant (FRSG) Program is to support emerging researchers or established researchers develop new research directions in topics that align with NASAs R&D priorities and Maines technology sectors. The program provides short-term, one-time support to jump start worthwhile projects that result in data or work products that can be used in developing major proposals for submission to NASA and to other extramural funding agencies. A major aim of the FRSG program is support collaborations between Maine researchers and NASA Field Centers. We require research projects to be interdisciplinary and to align with NASA priority areas and the state of Maine™s seven legislatively targeted sectors. Eligible uses of FRSG funds include preliminary research activities, travel to NASA Field Centers to initiate contacts and collaborations, student support, and disciplinary-specific workshops for networking between Maine researchers and NASA.
